LUNCH
Students may bring lunch from home or purchase lunch from the cafeteria. Another option for lunch is that parents/visitors may eat with students and bring food with them at that time (but not until the beginning of the fourth week of school). Visitors can also purchase an adult lunch from the cafeteria. The full price of lunch is $2.25. See the price list HERE. Students can pay each day, but it is easier if you send a check or if you put money into an account at myschoolbucks.com. They even have an app! If you send a check please make sure you make the check out to HSES and put your child's ID number in the memo line. Please inform the cafeteria of any restrictions you may want to impose on your child. For example, if you don't want your child buying extras, such as ice cream, chips, etc. or if you only want your child to buy an ice cream on Fridays. Parents and Visitors
When parents and other visitors come to eat lunch with our class, we ask that you meet us at the entrance to the cafeteria and not in the classroom and say goodbye there as well and not walk back to class with your child. This makes separation more difficult and interupts our routine and structure. If you eat lunch at the round tables with the purple table cloths, your child is allowed to choose ONE friend to eat with you. Or you can eat at our designated lunch tables. |
SNACK
Each student will need to bring in their own snack every day. Please pack it separately from your child's lunch, if they bring lunch to school, so they don't accidentally eat it early. Or talk with them about what food is for lunch versus what is for snack. Remember to pack them a water bottle or something to drink for snack also!! Children should not eat candy for snack. |
